Not just yet.

This is about graduating high school. Although I’m only a sophomore, I have a lot of really close friends who will be graduating this year. I love high school, and there’s no way I’m ready for it to end. I can’t believe I only have 2 years left.

I am at a standstill, and the world is running by.

The world is moving forward, but I’m too content with where I am.

I’m not ready to let go.

Not just yet, not just yet.

I’d like you to come stop time with me, if only for a day.

I’d meet and greet, and smile before it all goes away.

I’m not ready to move on.

Not just yet, not just yet.

I don’t want our time to end.

Not just yet, not just yet.

When the time comes, I hope I’ll be ready, but right now I’m not.

I’m not ready.

If only we could live like this forever, and never face the choice.

I’m not ready to not see your face every day, not ready to never hear your voice.

I am at a standstill, and the world is running by.

I reach for a hand, so I won’t stand alone.

But all I feel is the wind of the people as they move on.

I’m scared.

I hope that when that day comes I’ll learn to be ready.

But not just yet.

Not just yet.
